Our Malaysia Fixed Income & Sukuk team is seeking an experienced professional in fixed income credit research, with a focus on Malaysia bond issuers to join us as a Research Analyst. The successful candidate will also be part of our Global Sukuk team. This role will report directly to Head, Malaysia Fixed Income & Sukuk.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position?
Independent research with opportunity to explore new ideas for portfolio management purposes
Support the Portfolio Managers in managing active fixed income portfolios: create trade lists, implement strategies, and interact with the different research groups within the Fixed Income team
Servicing of current and new clients including preparation of presentation materials and market write-ups
Play an active role and contribute to our proprietary credit module and conduct company visits, manage the relationship with external researchers and continuously review the counterparty’s credit standing
Monitor and manage portfolio risks and other parameters as defined under the investment process
Participate in weekly/monthly strategy calls and meetings
What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
A Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in credit research
Holder of Capital Market Services Representative License (CMSRL) has an added advantage
Strong knowledge of bond market dynamics and industry trends
Understanding of quantitative and qualitative research concepts and tools and being able to independently create cash flow modeling
Strong critical thinking and analysis skills
Proficient writing skills with proven experience in meeting deadlines
Confident and communicate well with individuals at all levels
High level of intelligence and business acumen; intellectually grounded
Committed to learning and sharing insights with team on a timely manner
High level of personal integrity
Committed to the value of research
