As Reprocessing Educator, you will plan and implement reprocessing education to caregivers while maintaining a positive and professional environment. You will set standards and expectations by emphasizing integrity through your conduct and work ethic, helping motivate pupils through effective teaching methodologies. Ultimately, by developing and delivering education that aligns with industry regulations and Cleveland Clinic’s rigorous quality expectations, you play a critical part in reducing surgical site infections, improving instrument processing efficiency and enhancing patient outcomes. A caregiver in this position works from 7:00AM – 4:00PM. This position is a regional role and required to travel to Martin, Indian River, Tradition, Coral Springs, and Weston Hospitals.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Design, direct, implement and evaluate educational offerings based on knowledge, skills and learning levels of caregivers. Develop and utilize appropriate evaluations to determine the effectiveness of educational activities. Assist in the development of department specific orientation/competencies and orientation of caregivers. Coordinate continuing education, training programs and caregivers’ development. Consult with individuals within the Nursing Institute, Surgical Operations, Infection Prevention, CCF and the community regarding professional practices and caregiver roles.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Education, Healthcare Administration or related field OR additional progressively responsible experience Sterile Processing Distribution Certification by IAHCSMM or CBSPD Two years of recent Sterile Reprocessing experience with demonstrated clinical expertise Preceptor (training) or Lead Technician experience Demonstrated expertise in reprocessing and computer skills utilizing clinical systems (SPM) and Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) In-depth knowledge of sterile processing standards, including AAMI, AORN, and regulatory guidelines Experience with surgical instruments, decontamination, sterilization and high-level disinfection Experience with training methods, competency assessments and instructional technology Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and quality assurance measuresOur caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
