Repair Test Technician
Job Title: Repair TechnicianJob Description

As a Repair Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and processing equipment returned by customers for repair or exchange. You will work with general supervision on routine tasks and detailed instructions on new assignments, using sound judgment to ensure high-quality service.

ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot equipment to the component level to determine failure and compare findings with customer complaints.Prepare repair estimates and obtain customer approvals.Perform rework modifications, updates, and realignments to return equipment to working order.Document corrective actions taken to restore returned equipment.Perform testing to ensure equipment functions according to specifications.Inspect finished products to verify conformance to industry and workmanship standards.Document failure codes and repair information on company systems.Identify and report problems with products and procedures to the RD Lead or Supervisor.Address any service/reliability issues that arise.Initiate Engineering Action Requests (EAR) as needed.
Essential SkillsProficient in soldering, including surface mount components.Ability to troubleshoot to the component level.Competence in reading schematics and interpreting manufacturing instructions.Experience in using common hand tools and operating required test equipment.Strong judgment and decision-making skills.Familiarity with testing programs such as AGILE and MES.
Additional Skills & QualificationsComputer savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office.Associates degree in Electronics Technology, Technical School or Certificate, or an equivalent combination of education/experience with a basic understanding of electronics theory is preferred.

Work Environment

This role involves frequent contact outside the department or company, with a noise level that ranges from quiet to moderate, and occasionally loud. You will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, in high, precarious places, and be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and regular risk of electric shock.

This is a Contract position based out of Carlsbad, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
