JOB SUMMARY:

The repair development engineer is responsible for designing extended repairs to restore airworthiness in aircraft components and assemblies that were otherwise deemed scrap. Write work instructions for operations to carry out the manufacturing processes required. Justify the repairs through use of engineering analysis and tools such as hand calculations, finite element analysis, and other methods. Coordinate with approving agencies to gain approval/certification of the repairs. Adhere to and improve the quality standards used in the aerospace industry as well as Textron Aviation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Expand Able Aerospace Services capability and business by developing expanded repairsDesign repair manufacturing requirements for operations to execute based on industry standard practicesDevelop engineering justifications/analysis to support the airworthiness of the components and gain approval through various agencies such as the FAA, EASA, JCAB, etc.Manage repair development projects through planning, coordination, reporting, and ownership of goals and deadlinesPerform peer review of repair documents and justificationsCollaborate with team to facilitate improvement of skills and experienceHelp resolve technical issues that may be found within productions or engineering

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field requiredMinimum 2 years’ engineering or related technical experience required
