JOB SUMMARY:
The repair development engineer is responsible for designing extended repairs to restore airworthiness in aircraft components and assemblies that were otherwise deemed scrap. Write work instructions for operations to carry out the manufacturing processes required. Justify the repairs through use of engineering analysis and tools such as hand calculations, finite element analysis, and other methods. Coordinate with approving agencies to gain approval/certification of the repairs. Adhere to and improve the quality standards used in the aerospace industry as well as Textron Aviation.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field requiredMinimum 2 years’ engineering or related technical experience requiredQUALIFICATIONS:
Technical writing expertiseRequires self-starter skills and the ability to investigate the problem statement for each condition, part, and proposed solutionAbility to thrive in a team environment that requires peer reviews and cross-functional sharing of infoTechnical and operational understanding of various maintenance operation processing techniques, and mechanical systemsKnowledgeable in computer applications relating to the job including, Microsoft Office Suite, CAD/CAM software, and other aerospace applications Project management skills including the ability to prioritize, multitask, and deliver timely resultsAble to run analytical justifications through hand calculations.
