The Repair Center Engineer for Leica Biosystems is responsible for performing maintenance, modification and/or repair of Leica Biosystems mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic and refrigeration instruments.

This position is part of the Customer Support Group located in Richmond, IL and will be fully onsite.  At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.

You will be a part of the Repair Center Team and report to the Director of the Service and Repair Center responsible for managing the repair and distribution of the assets needed to ensure customer uptime.  If you thrive in a fast paced and supporting role and want to work to build a world-class customer service organization—read on.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Perform maintenance, modification and/or repair on mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic and refrigeration instruments.Identify root cause of instrument malfunctions and determine feasibility of repair.Disassemble, replace or repair defective parts.Calibrate, adjust and certify overhauled or modified instruments. Test, certify and harvest spare parts.Support the warehouse returns department by identifying good and complete returned items including instruments and spare parts/assemblies.

The essential requirements of the job include:

Associate degree or Technical Certifications with at least 1 year of experience in performing maintenance, modification and/or repair on mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic and refrigeration instruments

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

Ability to regularly lift, move, slide, raise and/or place up to 50 lbs.  Ability to stand, walk (prolonged), and sit; squat and kneel, ascend and descend stairs; reach with hands and arms

The hourly range for this role is $26.00 - $32.00. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
