Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires. **Job Summary:** Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the **Rental Applications Engineer** at Trane Technologies™ ensures optimal performance and integration of rental equipment. You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert for rental applications and technical support. The role involves addressing inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with customers to provide tailored solutions for Rental HVAC, Process Cooling, and Power equipment in temporary applications. Through effective communication and technical expertise, you will ensure high customer satisfaction. **What you will do:** + Collaborate daily with sales personnel and customers to guide rental equipment applications and installations. + Assist in creating tailored rental equipment proposals and communicating customer requirements. + Analyze end-user data to support sales and develop innovative solutions based on customer needs and competitor insights. + Ensure proposed solutions meet requirements through detailed plans, specifications, and load calculations. + Respond to engineering requests through our customer service platform. + Create and review technical documentation, including Engineering Bulletins, IOMs, Application Guides, and Best Practices. + Cultivate a subject matter expert mindset to effectively assist in the enhancement of processes, address complex engineering inquiries, and provide mentorship to new employees. + Participate in RFQs, evaluate vendor submissions, and contribute to new equipment design and validation. + Support critical projects, including on-site work. + Develop tools and documentation to automate inquiries and ensure timely responses. + Support product integration and market expansion through comprehensive documentation. + Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams on new product initiatives. + Provide product development, testing, and commercialization guidance and deliver technical training to other teams. + Lead and participate in Operational Excellence initiatives to drive continuous improvement and process support. **What you will bring:** + Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred; 0-3 years of work experience. + HVAC and Power system knowledge + Familiarity with industry standards and codes commonly used in HVAC (ASHRAE, AHRI, ASME, IEEE, NEC, etc.) + PC literate with Windows-based applications and ability to use AutoCAD, Adobe, and Revu Bluebeam. + Willingness to travel up to 20%. **Preferred:** + FE certification: PE is a plus. + 3-5 years of experience in the HVAC industry; experience in rental services. + Experience with data center or mission-critical equipment. + Experience working with CRM systems and project management tools + Hands-on experience with HVAC equipment selection tools and design software. **Key Competencies:** + Time management skills + Presentation and public speaking abilities + Engineering skills + Good written and verbal communication + Team-oriented + Solution development from customer requirements + Negotiation skills + Innovative thinking; Out-of-the-box thinking + Open to diverse input + Quick information synthesis for decision-making **Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:** $65,200.00 - $118,860.00 **Compensation Type:** Salary **Incentive Eligible:** No **Sales Commission Eligible:** No **Disclaimer** : We strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors.
