Leadership role within an international industry-driven clean energy initiative
An international technology industry association is seeking a Renewable Energy Advocacy Program Lead based in Malaysia to support a regional clean energy collaboration initiative aimed at accelerating decarbonization across the Asia-Pacific region.
This role works closely with government agencies, corporates, investors, and technology providers to advance renewable energy deployment and shape policy development. It is a highly influential position at the intersection of clean energy, public policy, and industry collaboration.
Role OverviewThe Program Lead will drive advocacy efforts, support renewable energy uptake, strengthen stakeholder relationships, build partnerships, and contribute to broader business development activities. The role covers program execution, ecosystem engagement, and regional strategy development.
Key Responsibilities Policy Advocacy & Stakeholder Engagement Maintain ongoing engagement with government ministries and policy agencies Organize and lead policy roundtables and working group meetings Prepare and disseminate policy updates and analytical reports Renewable Energy Deployment Support Manage a collaboration platform connecting energy buyers, suppliers, investors, and technology companies Identify and address barriers related to PPA/REC procurement, grid challenges, and market readiness Plan and facilitate workshops to support renewable energy procurement and adoption Ecosystem Building & Partnership Development Establish strategic partnerships with local companies and organizations Increase program visibility through industry events and media engagement Support the onboarding of new participants and integration of emerging technologies Assist with sponsorship, partnership, and grant-related fundraising activities Required Qualifications More than 5 years of experience in renewable energy, clean technology, or policy advocacy Demonstrated experience collaborating with government agencies, corporations, or industry associations Strong understanding of Malaysia’s energy policies and renewable energy procurement mechanisms (e.g., PPA, REC) Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects and priorities Native-level proficiency in Malay and professional proficiency in English Established network within Malaysia’s policy and industry landscape Strong commitment to decarbonization and the advancement of clean energy Why This Role Is Attractive Opportunity to directly influence renewable energy deployment and policy development in Malaysia High-level engagement with government, industry leaders, and international partners Unique career exposure at the intersection of policy, renewable energy, and business development Central involvement in a high-impact initiative driving decarbonization across the Asia-Pacific region
