Remote Structural Engineering SME
Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Structural Engineering SME to join one of our largest customers in the U.S. This role will be embedded with a federal entity. This remote role will contribute to the design, analysis, and compliance of vertical infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with federal standards and mission-critical objectives. Key Responsibilities: - Lead structural design efforts for federal facilities, including military installations, healthcare centers, and administrative buildings. - Perform engineering analysis and develop construction documents for vertical infrastructure. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural systems with architectural, mechanical, and electrical components. - Ensure compliance with federal design standards such as UFC, IBC, and agency-specific guidelines. - Support proposal development and participate in federal RFP responses. - Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to team development. - Participate in design reviews and value engineering sessions with federal stakeholders. Skills and Requirements - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis. - Active PE or SE license. - Minimum of 6 years of experience in structural design, preferably with federal clients. - Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, RAM). - Familiarity with DoD or VA design standards and processes. - Strong communication and project management skills. - Experience working in remote, distributed teams. - Prior experience supporting federal agencies - Knowledge of sustainable design practices and low embodied carbon materials. - LEED AP or similar certification. - Experience with federal procurement and contracting processes.
