Job Description An employer is looking for a Remote Sr. Network Security Engineer to work PST hours. This person must have expertise in network security to manage firewall operations, maintain compliance, address vulnerabilities, and design secure network solutions across on-premises and cloud platforms. The role involves network operations and engineering projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with Information Security teams. This role will focus on managing and securing the organization’s firewall infrastructure to ensure robust network operations. The individual will implement, monitor, and support a fleet of corporate firewalls, regularly updating policies to accommodate requests such as port changes and security adjustments. They’ll proactively identify and remediate vulnerabilities, keeping systems patched and secure, while generating threat models and offering actionable risk mitigation strategies. Responding to compliance and audit inquiries is a key part of the role, alongside designing and deploying scalable firewall solutions across both on-premises and cloud environments. The individual will also troubleshoot complex incidents—including connectivity issues and denial-of-service attacks—ensuring swift resolution and minimal disruption. Skills and Requirements • 8+ years of experience in network engineering or related roles in technology environments. • 8+ years of experience in network security operations and infrastructure management. • 6+ years of experience of deep knowledge and hands-on experience with Palo Alto • 6+ years of experience in firewall management, configuration, and optimization. • 6+ years of experience with network segmentation strategies for enhanced security. • 6+ years of experience with threat modeling, vulnerability management, and patch application practices. • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory guidelines for audits and security standards.
