Remote Senior Full-Stack Cloud Engineer

Personalization at scale is key to our digital growth, spanning the entire guest journey—from acquisition to post-stay reactivation. Our vision is to deliver the most relevant products, offers, experiences and information across digital (web, app, email, paid media, social) and offline (front desk, concierge, direct mail, contact centers) channels to our guests using AI assisted decisioning and recommendations. This role supports the design, development, and operation of the Marketing Technology Ecosystem; collaborating with engineering, IT, Digital, Data and Marketing teams to align on architecture and integration strategies that activate personalized experiences across their ecosystem.

The Senior Cloud Full Stack Engineer designs, builds, operates and iterates on cloud native solutions that enable us to deliver end-to-end personalized experiences for our guests. The Senior Cloud Full Stack Engineer is an expert at solving technical challenges and building solutions using the best available tools available in an AWS cloud first environment.

These two roles will be the core of a new team, so communication skills are important. Problem solving skills are necessary for this, as that is the current gap on this team. We need coders who ALSO problem solve and can think outside of the box.

Examples of problem solving: they want to integrate the system with active directory so that they don’t manage users
Another example: Importing data from another system, making it run reliably and repeatably and doing deployments early (being proactive).
They will be given a high level problem and they need to be skilled enough to ask good questions and solve the problems at hand.

Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
Design, Develop and Operate Full Stack Cloud Solutions and Services in an AWS Cloud Environment using a serverless and managed service first approach.
Write Clean, Maintainable and Efficient code following best practices and standards.
Develop and Manage databases and other data storage systems in support of the services being built.
Define the application infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code approach using terraform.
Provide hands-on technical leadership throughout the development life cycle and focus on delivery of quality solutions.
Mentor peer engineering team members on technical decision making, code reviews and enforcing engineering practices and standards.
Lead technical discussions to share knowledge and build consensus amongst engineers to build the best solutions possible.
Maintain application DevOps processes and deployment pipelines to implement and
support application and feature releases.
Assist in system migration to the cloud supporting refactoring legacy system to
modernize the application or integration services to leverage cloud native services and solutions.
