We are seeking a dedicated Revenue Accountant to review and analyze complex customer contracts, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 for appropriate revenue recognition. This role involves participating in monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue accounting close activities, including commissions accounting close deliverables, and partnering with cross-functional teams for accurate revenue forecasting and reporting. You will also prepare revenue-related reports for financial statement disclosures and lead or support the implementation and migration of revenue accounting systems.
Responsibilities
+ Review and analyze complex customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with ASC 606.
+ Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue accounting close activities, including commissions accounting close deliverables (recons, revenue dashboards & reporting, revenue reserves, flux).
+ Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate revenue forecasting and reporting.
+ Prepare revenue-related reports for financial statement disclosures.
+ Lead or support the implementation and migration of revenue accounting systems.
+ Collaborate to define systems requirements and ensure alignment with accounting policies.
+ Perform systems testing, validation, and user training for new implementations or enhancements.
+ Interface with internal and external audit on revenue-related issues, support US GAAP audit, and maintain SOX control documentation.
Essential Skills
+ 3‐5 years of experience in a revenue accounting role within the SaaS technology or subscription-based industry.
+ Public accounting experience preferred and CPA a plus.
+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
+ Experience with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.
+ High proficiency using the NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management module in multi-currencies and multi-subsidiaries environment.
+ Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience working through a revenue recognition tool implementation.
+ Knowledge of Global Revenue Recognition.
+ Familiarity with NetSuite ERP & NetSuite ARM.
+ Experience in Power BI, Salesforce CRM, and RevPro is a plus.
+ System implementation and UAT experience (NetSuite, RevPro) preferred.
Work Environment
This is a fully remote position within a software platform company that started in 2009. The company has grown rapidly, necessitating updates to many of their systems. You will join a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with a current revenue team of 10 employees.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $110.00/hr.
