Remote Provider Service Team Lead

About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Provider Service Team Lead to join our team. This is a player-coach role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a proven track record of leading high-performing teams. The Team Lead will serve as the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for all Department of Health audit calls, while also supporting and coaching team members to deliver exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and mentor a team of provider service representatives, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
• Serve as the liaison between internal departments and external customers, ensuring clear and professional communication.
• Respond promptly and accurately to all inbound calls, maintaining a high level of professionalism and empathy.
• Handle Department of Health audit calls consistently and effectively, acting as the team’s subject matter expert.
• Monitor and coach team members on call quality, documentation accuracy, and customer service standards.
• Ensure compliance with call handling protocols, including avoiding short calls, inappropriate transfers, and misuse of hold functions.
• Perform accurate and timely data entry during and after calls.
• Navigate multiple databases simultaneously to resolve customer inquiries.
• Clearly explain policies and procedures during both inbound and outbound calls.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all lines of business and demonstrate technical proficiency.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the team’s pursuit of excellence.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years of experience leading a customer service team. Preferably in a related setting (Benefits, insurance, healthcare, etc.)
• Proven ability to coach, train, and audit team performance.
• Experience handling 70+ inbound calls daily
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of documenting while speaking.
• Comfortable with production metrics and performance-based environments.
• HS Diploma or equivalent
• **Applicants must have access to an ethernet plug in as Wi-Fi will not work. Must have a working phone number for secondary system verifications.
Details:
• 100% remote - equipment is provided.
• Pay: $23 - $25/hr. based on related experience
• Pay cycle – weekly | medical, dental & vision benefits offered
• Schedule (40 hours per week): Monday – Saturday | 8-hour shift within the hours of operation (9:30am – 8pm EST)
• 1 Saturday shift is required per month. (would have a weekday off when working a Saturday)
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
