Job Title: HR Assistant - Military Leave of Absence (LOA) Case Manager

Job Description

The Military Case Manager acts as a pivotal contact for employees experiencing leave of absence or disability events, both within the U.S. and globally. The role involves comprehensive case management services, focusing on understanding employee situations, providing appropriate benefits, and adapting to changing circumstances. This position aims to deliver a connected and trusted case management experience.

Responsibilities

Initiate and respond to military leave and disability inquiries.Provide holistic case management services.Deliver updates to employees and stakeholders.Calculate payments using system formulas.Review military documentation and adjudicate leaves.Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and internal policies.Maintain accurate system records.Adapt case management plans to changing needs.Handle sensitive situations and troubleshoot barriers.Solve problems with limited information.Facilitate smooth return-to-work transitions.Educate managers and business partners.Collaborate with third-party administrators, HR, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and other departments.Communicate effectively in English.

Essential Skills

2+ years of human resources and/or case management experience.Specific experience with end-to-end Leave of Absence/Case Management.Working knowledge of USERRA (Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994).Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Time management with strong ownership of deliverables.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to build relationships and influence across functions.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.Experience with Excel formulas for payment calculations.Ability to manage multiple projects independently in changing environments.Capacity to handle confidential information.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

1+ years of HR or customer service experience.Experience with Leave of Absence (LOA) processes is critical.Excel formulas experience and/or the ability to learn is frequently used in this role.High School Diploma (required)

Work Environment

This is a remote position. Training and nesting will last a combined 7 weeks, with 1 week of training followed by 6 weeks of nesting. The schedule during this period is 6am-3pm PST, Monday through Friday, with a 1-hour lunch break. After training/nesting, there are two schedule options: 6am-3pm PST or 7am-4pm PST, Monday through Friday. The team is fast-paced and high-volume, offering a great opportunity to gain corporate-level LOA experience.

This is a Contract position based out of Memphis, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
