Remote Director of Operations
Job Description A public medical school and the largest educator of health care professionals in Tennessee is looking for a Director of Operations. This Director will help oversee the daily administrative and clinical functions of the Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology. This role will be responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of daily operations, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to best practices. This role is a sync between finance and a clinical environment background. Other daily functions and responsibilities include: -Prepare and submit invoices for contract receivables and reconcile payments to the appropriate accounts -Develop, monitor, and control budgets involving private, state and federal funds - Ensure daily clinic deposits are reconciled to postings in the EMR and DASH; and processes refunds as appropriate. - Utilize data and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to track clinical performance/productivity and identify areas for improvement - Work closely with academic leadership, faculty, and external partners to align clinical operations with the College’s long-term strategic goals - Develop, implement, and participate in quality assurance programs/audits to continually improve performance - Coordinate with external agencies and accrediting bodies such as TEIS, Health Facilities Commission, and the TNDMHSAS - Chair billing and reimbursement committee meetings - Oversee, approve, and reconcile patient financial assistance programs - Negotiate insurance and third party insurance contracts, rates, and in-network status and assists in credentialing - Collaborate with EMR support team to inform feature requests, bug patches, and updates - Initiate and maintain clinic intake paperwork and policies and procedures document - Provide direct supervision, development, and evaluation of Medical billing/admin support personnel to ensure adequate staffing We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Education, Business Administration or related field 7 years of leadership experience in healthcare, finance, or education Knowledge of clinical workflows and process improvement techniques. Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
