Job Title: Relocation Counselor Location: Chicago, Illinois Type: Contract (approx. 5 months with possible extension) Compensation: $27 - $30 hourly Contractor Work Model: Onsite Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM About the Role: Join a dedicated team as a Relocation Counselor and play a crucial role in supporting families and individuals throughout the relocation process. Key Responsibilities: + Serve as the primary liaison for residents during relocation, ensuring a respectful and smooth process. + Conduct needs assessments and provide ongoing counseling throughout relocation. + Assist residents with locating new homes, coordinating move logistics, and processing reimbursements. + Maintain accurate records of interactions, expenses, and communications in SharePoint. + Evaluate and resolve exceptional requests, offering practical solutions. + Oversee on-site move coordination with movers and property staff to ensure timely relocations. Qualifications & Skills: + Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience highly valued. + Experience: Prior client advisory or similar roles in customer service, housing, or social work highly desirable. + Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with office equipment and internet/web usage. + Languages: Bilingual abilities are a plus; specify languages spoken and written. + Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills. + Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and project management capabilities. + Customer Service: Passionate about helping others with a compassionate, professional approach. + Other Skills: Basic math skills, ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting, and a willingness to learn about affordable housing policies and regulations. Ideal Candidate Profile: + Resides near Hammond, Indiana, or within commuting distance to Chicago. + Demonstrates initiative, confidentiality, and sound judgment. + Experienced in managing multiple projects simultaneously with a proactive attitude. + Comfortable interacting with diverse populations, including non-English speakers.
