Job Title: Medical Records Release SpecialistJob Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused professional to join our team as a Medical Records Release Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the release of patient health information in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies. You will play a key role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of medical record requests while delivering exceptional service to patients, providers, and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities + Process and fulfill requests for the release of medical information, including retrieving, scanning, and transmitting patient records daily. + Review and validate authorization forms to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. + Date-stamp and prioritize incoming requests to support efficient workflow and timely responses. + Maintain accurate and secure storage of medical records in accordance with organizational standards. + Provide outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries, assisting with record requests, and educating clients on privacy and confidentiality protocols. + Manage requests from multiple channels and ensure completion within required timeframes using appropriate systems. + Identify and respond to internal and external customer needs using available resources and sound judgment. Required Skills & Experience + Minimum of 3 years of experience in Release of Information (ROI) processes. + Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, including Epic and the ROI Navigator Module. + Strong understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards. + Excellent communication and customer service skills. + High attention to detail with a data entry accuracy rate of 95% or higher. + Experience with e-faxing and PDF applications. Preferred Qualifications + Experience in Health Information Management (HIM). + Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical terminology. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
