Responsibilities The Reimbursement Coordinator assists the Powerback Payment and Recovery team gathering records containing all items required by State and Federal Regulations for all phases of the appeal process. * Processes daily incoming denials notifications and follows processes for data entry to ensure all denials are recorded for appeal. Manages assigned workload to ensure that appeals are submitted timely. * Files all patient data upon receipt of the information. * Creates records for new patients and prepares electronic files. * Processes batch print therapy records for all denials from NetHealth, PCC (or other system) for appeals. * Ensures all required documentation has been received and in the event they have not must be able to follow up with field staff to obtain missing records. * Tracks all appeals/denials (at each level) through the Denials Database. * Responds to calls from individuals who have questions about medical records and/or appeals. * Builds strong relationships with clients. * Requests additional information as needed for completing the medical record. * Sends complete packet, in appropriate order, back to the appropriate field staff for transmission to the MAC or submits electronically or otherwise on behalf of Powerback. * Photocopies records as needed. * Maintains the confidentiality of all records. * Provides feedback to management regarding trends or patterns. * Provides backup for team members. * Actively participates in department meetings, offering suggestions for improvement of processes as well as being receptive to suggestions. * Assists with monthly and quarterly reports as needed. * Performs electronic filing and records management. * Processes all correspondence (mail, etc). * Follows up on claim statuses, decisions, etc. * Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications * 1 year relevant experience required either in hospital or nursing home environment. * 1-2 years experience in Skilled Nursing Facility or Hospital Billing/collections. * 1-2 years experience with claim appeal/denial resolution. * Experience with data entry, spreadsheets and word processing programs. Posted Salary Range USD $17.00 - USD $20.00 /Hr.
