This position serves as a member of the Quality Assurance Monitoring Team and is responsible for reviewing and refining the quality and level of services provided to vocational rehabilitation consumers.
The Office of Workforce Development (OWD) is a key division of the Louisiana Workforce Commission, managing programs in workforce training, job placement, apprenticeships, and business engagement. Minimum Qualifications
Two years of experience in rehabilitation services plus one of the following:
A bachelor’s degree plus one year of experience in rehabilitation services, social services, human resources, or education; OR
A bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation counseling; OR
A master's degree.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Performs quality assurance field investigative reviews on rehabilitation cases statewide, which may involve statewide travel.
+ Reviews statistical samples of cases for completeness, timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with state and federal laws, and department and agency policies and procedures.
+ Reviews and may verify data and information concerning consumers through contacts with financial institutions, employers, schools, medical providers, and utilizing information available through state and federal agencies, obtaining information by phone, virtually, in-person, or in writing.
+ Develops written reports of findings outlining problem areas, operational trends, and procedural weaknesses. Provides recommendations for changes or corrective action. Provides technical assistance in the interpretation and proper application of monitoring forms. Identifies specific problem areas by category, worker, type case, etc., and makes recommendations for corrective action to include changes in policies and procedures. Provides technical assistance regarding the implementation of corrective action plans. Conducts regional corrective action measures designed to minimize errors and avoid federal sanctions (i.e., loss of state funds, loss of agency credibility, liability of lawsuits, etc.)
+ Assists Program Manager in planning, directing, implementing, and evaluating varied, complex, and multifaceted quality assurance activities.
+ Maintains current knowledge of federal laws and regulations, as well as agency policies and procedures pertinent to quality assurance functions. Participates in meetings, exit staffing, and training sessions relative to quality assurance Issues. Works with staff in developing comprehensive plans to meet identified training needs.
+ Other duties as assigned, and travel must be performed as needed.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: This position may be filled as either a Probational or a Job Appointment (open to all qualified applicants); a Promotion (open to all statewide classified and agency wide permanent status employees); or by Detail to Special Duty. Current permanent status, classified employees may be required to accept a Probational appointment if selected. If filled as a Job Appointment, there is a possibility that this position may be converted to a Probational Appointment should funding become available.
