Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: + Schedules interviews to assess functional limitations and vocational potential of possible rehabilitation consumers with Intellectual/developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, visual impairments, epilepsy, spinal cord injuries, personality disorders, traumatic brain injury, hearing impairments, diabetes, orthopedic impairments, etc. + Accumulates and interprets general physical, psychological, specialized medical, and vocational evaluations to understand the various aspects of disabilities, including significant consequences, complications, functional problems, transferable skills, and social implications. Determines eligibility for rehabilitation services after reviewing comprehensive medical and psychosocial evaluations. + Coordinates consumers' plan of rehabilitation to include agreements providing vocational guidance and counseling, training programs, and other needed services, utilizing available resources to achieve maximum rehabilitation. Maintains knowledge of accommodations/technology to remove or eliminate barriers to employment. + Interacts with the consumer to assess his/her needs and problems to determine the best solution vocationally and socially, and assists the consumer with improving interpersonal skills, understanding the labor market, and achieving successful employment. Aids consumers in securing employment consistent with their vocational goal. + Provides counseling to consumers, family members, and significant others in relation to the vocational plan, services provided, and the expected outcome. Maintains adequate caseload flow and organization.
