What you'll do:

In the capacity of Regulatory Healthcare Solicitor based in Cardiff, you will:

Provide considered advice to clients regarding regulatory investigations conducted by bodies such as the General Dental Council (GDC) and General Medical Council (GMC), ensuring lucid communication of multifaceted legal issues. Represent clients at an array of hearings including inquests, disciplinary proceedings, police investigations, and prosecutions commensurate with your experience. Assume responsibility for managing your own caseload with minimal supervision whilst maintaining scrupulous case management records to ensure adherence to established protocols. Attain prescribed financial and chargeable targets through diligent progression of cases and judicious time management. Assist fellow solicitors within the team by supporting lead advisers on significant matters and overseeing more junior colleagues as circumstances require. Participate actively in business development endeavours including the delivery of training sessions and engagement in networking events to cultivate new opportunities for work. Demonstrate adaptability by responding effectively to urgent or short-notice hearings whilst upholding exacting standards of accuracy under pressure. Ensure all tasks are completed within strict deadlines and timetables whilst maintaining client service excellence throughout every stage of the process. Contribute constructively to the team’s collaborative ethos by sharing knowledge, supporting peers, and fostering an inclusive working environment.

What you bring:

To excel as a Regulatory Healthcare Solicitor in this distinguished role you will bring:

5-10 years post-qualification experience (PQE) specifically within professional regulation or healthcare law. A demonstrable record advising on GDC/GMC investigations together with experience handling inquests, police investigations or prosecutions involving healthcare professionals. Proven advocacy skills with assurance representing clients at various types of hearings including those arranged at short notice. A comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulators’ operations combined with commercial awareness pertinent to this specialist area. A conscientious approach characterised by responsiveness, critical thinking abilities, refined communication skills both written and verbal, as well as exemplary organisational capabilities. A willingness to augment existing skills through ongoing learning whilst deepening expertise within healthcare regulatory law.
