Starbucks regulatory compliance lead scientist role provides the right candidate with an opportunity to contribute to a strong professional team that supports high profile North American projects within a large cross functional group.  This role will have strong influence over retail and CPG channel products that have wide brand recognition and appeal.  This position will work closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers and industry experts to implement Starbucks regulatory compliance policies as key initiatives and programs are brought to life, delivering our department’s purpose – to ensure partner and customer trust in Starbucks safety and quality everyday.

As a regulatory compliance lead scientist, you will…

Leverage scientific acumen to deliver effective policies, data integrity practices and processes. Contribute to the implementation of programs and strategic plans.

Engage internally and externally to build effective and influential relationships by modeling Starbucks mission and values.

Work collaboratively to drive business solutions in area of expertise by engaging other experts and integrating other functions.

Operate expertly in areas of focus and apply sound technical principles to root cause analyses and problem solving.

Interpret changing North American regulations and industry trends to guide impacted business teams.

Troubleshoot and maintain broad scale labeling, nutrition and data integrity programs.

 

We’d love to hear from people with:

General Science (4 years), Food Safety, Microbiology, Env Public Health or Food Science Degree

8 years minimum experience in industry roles with regulatory responsibilities, experience with retail, CPG, supplier management, and Joint Venture relationships

Prior experience working in cross functional teams and acting as a technical expert

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to help the team leverage data that supports Starbucks business goals

Starbucks regulatory compliance lead scientist role provides the right candidate with an opportunity to contribute to a strong professional team that supports high profile North American projects within a large cross functional group.  This role will have strong influence over retail and CPG channel products that have wide brand recognition and appeal.  This position will work closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers and industry experts to implement Starbucks regulatory compliance policies as key initiatives and programs are brought to life, delivering our department’s purpose – to ensure partner and customer trust in Starbucks safety and quality everyday.

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above.  For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.  At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
