Regulators Tan Shop Machine Operator - 2nd Shift
Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Regulators Tan Shop Machine Operator - 2nd Shift. The hourly rate for this position is $20.40 per hour. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. **What you’ll do:** **Job Summary** Sets up, adjusts and operates various welding machines, presses, shears, brakes, flanges and expanders. **Job Responsibilities** • Perform tasks across various work centers, including tank expanding, seam welding, layout, horn presses, hanging, cover punching, paint booth operations, corrugate, laser, press brake, hanging, flanking, kitting, and tank unhang procedures. • Utilize the Bill of Materials to gather parts based on the work order for welders and other work stations. • Monitor and maintain the automatic paint booth, manually apply paint to hard-to-reach parts, add paint as needed, conduct titration tests for chemical balance, and verify the paint cure and dry-off oven temperatures. • Conduct routine machine maintenance, follow specified lists (oven pick list, PQP, VOP, IDP, verbal instructions), operate welding equipment (MIG wire feed), and use both manual and powered hand tools, as well as simple measuring devices. • Set up and adjust press brake, enter part numbers, form and check parts, palletize with another operator, and develop new part programs. • Load materials, perform laser cutting per specifications, validate material thickness, unload and sort parts, and check quality. • Coordinate daily production releases, unload and load coil steel, set up and adjust machines, operate and troubleshoot equipment, oversee welding units, check and store finished pieces, perform repairs, manage inventory, and dispose of scrap steel. • Position, hang, and remove tanks and associated parts from a powered overhead conveyor line. • Manually handle medium-heavy weight materials, and operate hoists and other material handling equipment (including powered industrial trucks). • Receive training in safe chemical handling, proper disposal of waste materials, and adherence to safety, quality, and operating instructions. • Safely operates overhead cranes and hoisting equipment to move materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility. • Actively participates in problem-solving processes, contributing to efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement within the organization. • Achieves and maintains target production rates or output levels, ensuring efficient operations and meeting organizational goals. • Adhere to safety protocols, ensures efficient material handling, housekeeping practices (5S+), and company policies and procedures. • Perform other manufacturing duties as assigned. **Qualifications:** **Education level required** • No education required **Years and area of experience required** • Relevant work experienced preferred. • Previous experience in manufacturing preferred. **Technical knowledge** • Works from quality and production standards and computerized winding sheets/prints to interpret coil specifications accurately. • Perform basic mathematical functions as required. **Physical Requirements** • Lift up to 40 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, grabbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and using both hands to lift and lower materials, with or without accommodations. **Environmental Abilities** • Adhere to proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as outlined below: Hand/Arm Gloves Over the Elbow Sleeves Eye/Face Safety Glasses Ear Ear plugs Foot Steel Toe Metatarsal Guards • Work efficiently in hot environments and tolerate loud noises. **Skills:** • Demonstrates effective communication, attention to detail, adaptability, and a positive work ethic, comprehends written and verbal work instructions accurately, and upholds Eaton’s Values and philosophy.
