Job Title: Emergency Room Registrar Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and eager individual to join our team as an Emergency Room Registrar. This role involves interacting with nursing staff, physicians, patients, and emergency personnel in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The position requires a commitment to providing excellent customer service and aiding individuals in urgent need of medical attention. Responsibilities + Complete patient registration, gathering names and insurance information accurately. + Run reports and audit accounts to collect insurance information and co-pays. + Utilize job aids and SharePoint resources to ensure accurate data entry and registration processes. + Interact with nursing, physicians, patients, and emergency personnel to ensure seamless operations. + Participate in a comprehensive training program, including 12 days of department training and classroom instruction. + Maintain professionalism and empathy while handling various patient scenarios. + Be available to work holidays and weekends, as required, with shifts including nights. Essential Skills + Customer service orientation and healthcare experience. + Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills. + Ability to maneuver computers on wheels and remain on feet for extended periods. + Professional demeanor with empathy for patients. + Punctuality and reliability. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory. + Ability to learn new systems and procedures quickly. + Capability to adapt to a fast-paced and chaotic environment. Work Environment The role is based in an ER Trauma center, where you will encounter a variety of patient scenarios, including emergency situations involving both children and adults. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves exposure to challenging situations, such as trauma cases. Team members must be comfortable with the realities of an emergency room setting and be prepared to handle blood and critical patient conditions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mission Viejo, California. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
