Registrar Lead

Responsibilities

The Registrar Lead at a hospital is responsible for overseeing and supporting the daily operations of the patient registration team to ensure accurate and efficient collection of patient demographic, insurance, and financial information. This role provides guidance, training, and performance feedback to registration staff, monitors workflow to maintain service quality and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards, and assists in resolving complex registration issues. The Registrar Lead collaborates closely with clinical and administrative departments to facilitate smooth patient access and promote a positive patient experience while meeting organizational goals for timeliness and data integrity.

Obtain accurate demographic insurance information.Correctly code and verify insurance coverage.Collect estimated patient responsibility or screen patient for assistance programs.Train new staff. Provide continuous and ongoing education to all PAR staff.Assist Facility Administrator with patient and complaints.Maintain consistent communication within the department.
Qualifications
Minimum:High School Diploma or GED (1) year recent of medical office, hospital registration, or banking experience(2) years of Customer Service experienceAmerican Heart Association-issued BLS card

Preferred:

Associates Degree or a combination of education and job-related experience.

Medical terminology, insurance verification, Collections, Schedule creation and maintenance.

1 year of management, supervisor, or lead experience.
