As a Registered Radiology Technologist, you will use a variety of x-ray and fluoroscopic equipment including stationary units, mobile machines, C-arms, and fluoroscopy systems to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and minimizing radiation exposure. In this role, you will prepare patients for exams, provide clear instructions, position them accurately, and operate imaging equipment with precision to support accurate physician interpretation. You will perform radiologic and fluoroscopic procedures on patients of all ages, maintaining strict adherence to safety standards, radiation protection protocols, and best practices in patient care.

A caregiver in this role works days from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. with weekend requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Perform general radiology exams, portable exams and fluoroscopic procedures.  

Produce quality images for interpretation with accuracy and without delay.  

Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.  

Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after the exam.  

Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.  

Maintain documentation.  

Address equipment malfunctions, notify management and report malfunctions to the help desk and PACS administrator.  

Assist with scheduling procedures, monitor and determine priority of patients and process billing.  

Rotate through all diagnostic imaging modalities, sites and/or locations

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology  

Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT) and in good standing  

Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist  

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification  

Knowledge of anatomy and related pathological processes

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist  

Physical Requirements:

Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
