Virtual RNs may serve as a member of the healthcare team by collaborating, communicating, and facilitating care with all clinicians, patients, and families. The virtual nurse maintains patient anonymity and safety using various technological platforms and provides indirect patient care, consults with other clinical care team members, and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure safe patient care through a virtual platform (i.e., cameras, desktop computers, mobile devices, tablets, and smartphones). Works remotely with bedside nurses in providing real time, clinical decision support for patients care unit. Virtual nurses must have a minimum of 3 years RN experience in an acute care hospital.
Structure of the Virtual RN:
• This position is 100% on-site at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital
• 12-hour shifts / 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend / Holiday rotation

• Hourly Safety Checks
• Patient Education
• Discharge Preparation
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program within 3 years of hire
• Completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within 5 years of hire
• Minimum of three (3) years RN experience in an acute care setting preferred
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing
