Registered Nurse Vascular Verification Coordinator - Vascular Surgery Center York - Full Time
**General Summary** Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses and administrative staff to ensure high-quality care for vascular patients. This position focuses on maintaining compliance with established standards, monitoring clinical outcomes, and implementing best practices to enhance patient safety and treatment effectiveness. **Duties and Responsibilities** **Essential Functions:** + In collaboration with the medical and nursing leadership, assumes responsibility for the development, implementation and coordination of the disease specific Vascular Verification Center(s). + Serves as a clinical expert on all aspects of vascular care to health care professionals, hospital personnel, patients, families and the community. + Provides leadership in development, maintenance, implementation, and evaluation of written care protocols including physician's standing orders based on established guidelines from the American College of Surgeons and the Society for Vascular Surgery, clinical pathways, clinical practice guidelines and procedures for patients receiving vascular surgical and interventional care and treatment. + Develops and facilitates ongoing professional education programs for hospital medical staff and nursing, including the ambulatory team. + Develops and implements the patient education process for all hospitalized vascular patients with emphasis on evidence-driven pathways. + Routinely communicates with other program coordinators and directors to adopt best practices and share ideas across the system. + Ensures data is collected, reviewed and analyzed following the recommended protocols. Develops and implements action plans based on outcomes data. + Assists the Vascular Surgery Site Director with identification, review and presentation of morbidity and mortality. Presents outcome data within relevant quality forums. + As the primary point of contact for verification bodies and surveyors, will interpret verification standards and translate them into operational practice, policies, and workflows. + Develops, maintains, and updates all required documentation for Vascular Verification Program disease-specific certification. + In conjunction with the Heart and Vascular Service Line and nursing leadership, develops a strategic plan that includes an assessment of the service population's need for acute and ongoing care, along with the Center's capacity to market services to those needs. + Utilizes patient experience data to address issues that require attention to improve patient perception of care. + Collects, analyses, and disseminates data and information relevant to Vascular Quality Initiatives (VQI) as well as any other data elements regarding Vascular Surgery (partnership with other SL's as well). + Supports the medical record abstraction process in collaboration with the Clinical Quality Department. + Support clinical staff within the Emergency Department, inpatient and procedural areas of care when patients experiencing vascular needs and evaluate opportunities for improvement. **Common Expectations:** + Serves as a co-chair to the quarterly Vascular Surgery Program Committee and is an active member of hospital and ambulatory committees that are related to vascular patient care. + Serves as a liaison between the various service lines who care for vascular patients to ensure compliance with VQI standards. + Demonstrates motivation for learning through independent reading, professional networking and attending relevant conferences and seminars. + Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation. **Required for All Jobs:** + Performs other related duties as identified. + WellSpan Health has adopted and implemented a compliance program to support WellSpan's values and standards for professionalism, integrity, and ethics. Required + Experience in quality improvement, clinical program coordination or accreditation process. Preferred + Experience with SVS Vascular Verification Program, Stroke Program Oversight, Trauma, Chest Pain or similar accreditation pathways. Preferred + Experience with data abstraction, outcomes registries (i.e. VQI) and performance improvement methodologies Preferred **Licenses:** + Licensed Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required or + Registered Nurse Multi State License Upon Hire Required **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** + Strong analytic, project-management, and process improvement skills preferred.
