About The Job:
This position is responsible for promoting improved patient care outcomes through coordinating effective orientation, education, evaluation and ongoing development of all support, technical and nursing colleagues. This is accomplished through a combination of direct patient care and unit based education responsibilities (approximately 50/50). This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care with the multidisciplinary team while using the nursing process and maintaining professional nursing standards.
What we are looking for:
Education [formal]:
Graduate of a program in professional nursing required
Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa, or qualified multi-state license, required. BSN required, or complete within 5 years. Certification in area of practice (i.e. CCRN) (from the Magnet approved certifications list), preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years professional nursing experience required.
Demonstrates expertise in all aspects of the nursing care setting.
Special Skills and Competencies:
Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs.
Ability to work flexible hours to meet department and colleague educational needs.
Self-motivated, detail oriented individual able to work with minimum supervision.
Strong technology skills including software (ie: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, audio/video equipment, and Electronic Medical Record).
Excellent collaboration and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills, including public speaking and written skills.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships.
High degree of initiative and judgment.
Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current
Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years. status.
