REGISTERED NURSE - STEPDOWN INTERMEDIATE CARE UNIT - 36 HOURS - NIGHT SHIFT

Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Rotating every other weekend 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Unit Description:

Henry Ford St John Hospital's Stepdown Intermediate Unit is a 12-bed ICU Stepdown. Our patient population typically consists of acute respiratory distress/failure, sepsis, cerebrovascular accidents, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, acute and chronic renal failure, status epilepticus, and severe electrolyte abnormalities.  You should expect to demonstrate your skills in mechanical ventilation management, chest tube management, wound vacuums, central venous catheters, arterial midline catheters, and titratable IV medications. Our average nurse to patient ratio is approximately 1:3-4, and we have the support of a close-knit, multidisciplinary team. We welcome nurses of all education and experience, and will ensure that you are trained to be successful in this environment. 

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.  Implement and monitor patient care plans.  Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.  Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.  Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire. 

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES REQUIRED:

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
