Inova Fairfax Hospital is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated RN Unit Supervisor to join our Adolescent Psychiatry Unit on the day shift. This is a full-time position with a 3 x 12-hour shift schedule (7:00 am to 7:30 pm). We welcome acute care Registered Nurses who are enthusiastic about working with the psychiatric patient population and are eager to make a positive impact in this specialty.

The Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor serves as a front line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to quality and best practices to improve the clinical operations of the unit. Embraces, uses and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools. Supports unit based shared governance and decentralized decision making structures and processes. Acts as a role model who leads by example in delivering "Service Always" and in making patient

Job Responsibilities:

Performs biopsychosocial assessments on patients  Provides medications and treatments to patients      Serves as a resource for patients and families regarding medical questions  Develops plan of care Works with the interdisciplinary team to assist adult patient to meet treatment goals  Reports to the Clinical Director 

Minimum Qualifications:

Certification - Basic Life Support; Completion of a revised Charge Nurse workshop within 3 months of 
hire Licensure - Licensed Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia Experience - 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse Education - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or Associate's Degree RN within 1 year of completing their 
BSN)

Preferred Qualifications:

2-3 years previous inpatient psychiatric experience preferred Previous charge/leadership experience preferred Previous department council/committee experience preferred
