Patient Bays -11

Elective, urgent & emergent surgical patientsSurgeries include -  Breast, plastics, ENT, Urology, general, some vascular, gyn, robot, orthopedics and podiatry.Recovery of IR and GI patients post-general anesthesia – Only if requested by anesthesia due to patient conditionCulture: Collaborative, friendly, caring, and supportiveSkill Mix: Experienced nurses with some new to PACU, ranging from 1 year experience to 30 years’ experienceStaffing & Ratios:Elective surgeries scheduled 0715–1900Typical ratios: 1:1 or 1:2

We’re Looking For:

Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing

Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

Strong preference for experience 1-2 years of inpatient nursing med/surg ideally ICU or ED. or periop experience

What You’ll Do:

Deliver individualized care using the nursing process—assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.

Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, mobilizing resources and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes.

Promote patient safety by implementing risk-reduction strategies and reporting safety events promptly. Verifies patient identity, allergies, and surgical site

Educate patients and families, adapting teaching methods to meet unique learning needs and supporting readiness for discharge.

Coordinate care and discharge planning through an interdisciplinary approach, ensuring continuity across the healthcare continuum.

Lead and delegate effectively, fostering teamwork and supporting unlicensed personnel.

Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and unit performance.

Maintain professional growth through ongoing education, competency completion, and participation in shared governance activities.

Schedule Details/Additional Information:

8-hour shifts (4 days/wk.)

12-2030 with some flex depending on surgical schedule.

****Weeknight, weekend and holiday call rotations.
