**Summary**
+ The Clinic RN/LPN provides medical support to assigned patients by utilizing the nursing process and meeting the established standards within the clinic. This position is accountable for assigned patients, demonstrates understanding of nursing and its issues and is an advocate for patient/families and nursing.
**General Hours of Work**
+ Monday through Friday – Saturday rotation as needed (8:00 am - 5:00 pm)
**Education and/or Experience**
+ A graduate of accredited school of nursing. One to two years nursing experience preferred. Bi-lingual experience preferred but not required.
**Certificate, Licenses, Registrations**
+ Licensed as RN/LPN to practice in the state of Iowa. Must obtain CPR certification within 3 months of hire date.
**RN Essential Functions**
+ Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service/care appropriate to the age of the patients served, in accordance with facility standards.
+ Initiates appropriate patient/family education following assessment of learning and discharge needs.
+ Documents nursing intervention and patient/family response accurately, legibly, and in compliance with clinic policies.
+ Promotes and maintains a safe and calm environment for complex patients by ensuring appropriate supplies, equipment, and necessary services.
+ Assists in making clinical decisions based on scientific principles, systematic approach and experience.
+ Assists in identifying actual and potential risk to patients and/or families and assists in initiating appropriate action to minimize risk.
+ Administers medications and treatments/procedures as directed, and as appropriate for the patient’s medical care, in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
+ Appropriately delegates tasks/procedures to other team members who are prepared/qualified to perform.
+ Contributes to the learning experience of students and staff by modeling competent nursing practice.
+ Works frequently with computer software systems. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
**LPN Essential Functions**
+ Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service/care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
+ Utilizing the nursing process assists the physician in providing patient care.
+ Demonstrates ability to identify physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of the patient and appropriately reports to the physician.
+ Promotes and maintains a safe and calm environment for complex patients by ensuring appropriate supplies, equipment and necessary services.
+ Identifies actual and potential risk to patient and/or families and initiates appropriate action to minimize risk.
+ Administers medications and treatments/procedures as directed, and as appropriate for the patient’s medical care, in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
+ Utilizes internal and community resources in planning care and initiating referrals.
+ Works frequently with computer software systems.
+ Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
