**Description:**
At **Saint Mary’s Hospital** , our **Medical Surgical/Ortho-Neuro-Ortho** Unit is a 27-bed unit specializing in the care of adult patients with stroke, orthopedic, and neuro-spine conditions. In addition to these specialties, nurses on this unit care for patients with a wide range of medical and surgical needs, delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a collaborative and supportive environment.
This unit also utilizes a **Virtual Nurse,** the **Together Team Model** , as part of our care team. The Virtual RN brings a minimum of 7 years of experience and provides essential support to bedside staff, including assistance with admissions, discharges, patient education, purposeful rounding, and enhancing team communication.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients with diverse medical and surgical needs.
+ Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
+ Monitor patient progress, administer medications, and perform treatments in accordance with hospital protocols.
+ Educate patients and families on post-operative care, rehabilitation, and recovery processes.
+ Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
**Required:**
+ Graduation from an accredited nursing school
+ Valid RN License in Connecticut
**Preferred:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Nursing
+ The ideal candidate will have one or more years of medical-surgical or neuro/ortho in an acute inpatient setting.
+ BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
**Position Highlights:**
+ Part Time: 24 hrs/week-Night Shift
+ Rotating Every other Weekend/Holiday
