Inova Loudoun Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Labor and Delivery Unit. This role will be full-time night shift 3 x 12-hour shifts per week 7:00 p.m. – 7:00a.m. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities:
• Provides knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination for patients,
• Ensures safe, therapeutic, holistic care, incorporating patient/family-centered approaches and respect for individual differences.
• Integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet patient and family needs across the care continuum, including education.
• Communicates effectively and collaborates with healthcare team members, respecting other clinical disciplines.
• Determines care delivery processes using patient communication, technology, and team collaboration.
• Perform comprehensive health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets.
• Develop individualized care plans based on patient assessments and population trends.
• Deliver patient care in a patient and family-centered manner.
• Advocate for patient rights and provide counsel to resolve issues.
• Access multidisciplinary resources for patient outcomes and coordinate transition planning.
• Document all patient care activities according to standards.
• Evaluate care processes, anticipate patient variances, and revise care plans accordingly.
• Make clinical decisions based on experience, patient data, and intuition.
• Foster effective communication and cooperation with clinical teams.
• Assess and measure patient education needs and outcomes.
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and direction to staff, including preceptorship and delegation of care activities.
• Ensure care delivery aligns with standards, guidelines, and collaborative processes.
• Pursue professional development by obtaining continuing education.
• Evaluate clinical and quality outcomes and contribute to performance improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Experience: Required 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start | For Critical Care Units: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - Within 6 Months | For Pediatric Units: Pediatric Advanced Life Support- Within 6 Months | For Infusion Center Units: Obtain chemo card- within 3 months of hire
• Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license
Preferred Qualifications:
• Two years of recent Registered Nurse (RN) inpatient experience on a Labor and Delivery Unit
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
