**Responsibilities**
Coordinate nursing program activities and resources within clinical specialty or department.
+ Develop and oversee program, making recommendations and acting as a resource for all nursing staff related to patient care and clinical standards, policies and procedures. Develop and document care plans and therapy programs.
+ Oversee and ensure plan of care therapy program is implemented as indicated. Ensure necessary resources and/or equipment is obtained as ordered.
+ May supervise and direct nursing staff.
+ Coordinate, assemble, and maintain documentation as required.
**Requirements**
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
+ BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
+ One or more of the following required:
+ Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
+ Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
**Additional Preferences**
+ Coordinates clinical and administrative processes for patients through all phases of the transplant/mechanical circulatory support (MCS) implant continuum to include pre-transplant/implant evaluation, wait list management, transplantation/implantation and post-transplantation/implantation follow-up care.
+ Educates patients, families and staff regarding transplantation/MCS implantation.
+ Collaborates with physicians and other program staff in evaluating and managing patients.
+ Completes data capture, analysis and reporting and other administrative functions required for transplant/MCS program operations.
+ Actively participates in the quality agenda for transplant services as outlined by the United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
+ Collects and maintains time study data for purposes of reporting pre and post transplant time.
