The Stress Lab Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations and clinical coordination of the Stress Testing Department. This role ensures the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of cardiac stress testing services including exercise and pharmacological stress tests. The coordinator provides clinical oversight, ensures regulatory compliance, schedules patient care services, and acts as a liaison between physicians, staff, and patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate and oversee all stress testing procedures (treadmill, nuclear, echocardiographic, and pharmacologic).

Supervise and schedule stress lab staff including RNs, EKG techs, and exercise physiologists.

Monitor patient care standards and performance of stress testing to ensure quality and regulatory compliance (e.g., Joint Commission, AHA guidelines).

Assist in performing stress tests when needed, including IV placement, monitoring vitals, and patient preparation.

Collaborate with physicians to interpret results and ensure timely reporting.

Ensure proper documentation, coding, and billing processes are followed.

Maintain equipment and manage supply inventory.

Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the lab.

Train new staff and conduct continuing education.

Ensure patient and staff safety protocols are upheld.

Qualifications:

Education & Licensure:

Registered Nurse (RN)

Current state licensure and ACLS certification required.

Experience:

Minimum 2–3 years in ICU, Cardiac Cath Lab, or cardiac diagnostics or stress testing.

Prior experience in a supervisory or coordinator role preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

Strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.

Familiarity with cardiac testing equipment (e.g., EKG machines, treadmills, IV pumps).

Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick clinical decisions.

EMR/EHR experience; proficiency with stress testing software is a plus.

Working Conditions:

Outpatient and inpatient clinical setting.

May require standing for long periods, lifting patients or equipment, and responding to emergencies.
