Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides general medical services to program participants under the guidance of the Program Director. This role is tasked with completing nursing assessments, helping to create individual treatment plans, and providing care using established best-practice methods. Essential Job Functions include those listed below.
Essential Job Functions:
• Screens populations from various age groups in order to determine behavioral health needs;
• Provide referrals to other community partners.
• Completes and records initial and subsequent nursing assessment of each patient’s physical and mental status according to program protocols using interview, observation skills, and physical assessment techniques and communicates findings verbally and/or via written documentation;
• Provides structure, and maintains a therapeutic environment in collaboration with program participants and other members of the team;
• Intervenes during emergencies using, evidence-based practice strategies;
• Assists in developing positive relationships that support program participants in meeting their personal goals;
• Participates in collaborative care team meetings;
• Acts as a collaborative team member within the program, leading and addressing comprehensive health promotion and behavioral health maintenance needs;
• Facilitates preventative and restorative health and well-being education in individual, group and community settings;
• Assists the Regional Director of Accreditation in gaining and/or obtaining facility accreditation with CARF, JC, and other bodies;
• Assists other WestCare staff as needed to promote cooperation and portray a professional image to the community;
• Embraces and embodies the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation;
• Performs any other duties as assigned.
