Registered Nurse - Medical/Telemetry Unit (Unit 35) - 36 hours per week - 12 hour day shift

Full-Time Benefit Eligible

Shift: Days 7:00 am to 7:30 pm with alternating weekend schedule

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

UNIT OVERVIEW:

Unit 35 – Medical/Telemetry Unit - 24 bed Medical Telemetry unit, all of our patients have cardiac monitoring, we see a wide variety of medical patients with multiple comorbidities such as: pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, GI, renal failure-acute and chronic, CHF, cardiac pt’s with diagnostic procedures or medical management only, Afib, wound care, a few surgical and neuro pt’s.

We have a high majority of geriatric pt. population with a high case mix. The only cardiac drip we run is Cardizem for Atrial fibrillation-which we see a lot of. We specialize in Peritoneal Dialysis and our nurses are specially trained for this.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel. 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
