Short Description

The Registered RN is a professional care-giver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self.

The Radiology & IR Departments are in the basement of the hospital. These areas serve outpatient and inpatient patients who require procedures that require medical imaging to help diagnosis and treat certain problems. They see infants and adults. There are two sides to this. One group of nurses prepare and recover the patient following the procedure, while another group of nurses is in the rooms with the interventional radiologists and others to assist with the procedures. Some of these nurses do go over to MD Anderson for Radiologic cases scheduled over there.

Experience Required 2 years of Critical Care experience required  Education Requirements Graduate of NLN-accredited School of Nursing  License/Certification Requirements Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse) upon hireCurrent NJ-BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) upon hireCurrent ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) upon hireCurrent PALS Certification (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 3 months of employment Special Requirements

Two (2) 6A-6:30P shifts per Six (6) week period, plus on-call rotation

IR Lab is open M-F
