Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor infection control policies and proceduresParticipate in the development and implementation of training programs for healthcare staffConduct surveillance activities to identify any potential sources of infectionMonitor and review infection control practices to ensure compliance with relevant policies and standardsAdvise on the use of personal protective equipment for staff and visitorsMonitor infection rates within the healthcare setting and report any trendsInvestigate any reported cases of infection and provide advice on prevention and control measuresRespond to and manage any incidents of infection in accordance with established policies and proceduresLiaise with public health authorities and other organizations in relation to infection control
Qualifications
At least 3 years of experience as an Registered Nurse. Permanent, current, full and unrestricted license to practice a Registered Nurse in a state, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Certification in infection control. Comprehensive knowledge of infection control principles and practices. Ability to obtain an IHS public trust clearance.
