Registered Nurse

Demonstrates knowledge of the conditions/diagnoses, procedures and equipment encountered in the Endoscopy unit including Gastroenterology, and Pulmonary. Exhibits knowledge of and consistently maintains SGNA standards of practice. Assesses patient reactions and understanding of procedure/instructions- actively including the patient and family members in teaching. Demonstrates flexibility and responsibility in meeting staffing needs of the unit. Clinically practices consistently and effectively with the goal of improving patient satisfaction. The department is open Monday – Friday 630am to 6pm and Saturday 7am-4pm with an on-call team available any time the department is closed for emergencies. 

Principal Accountabilities: (including but not limited to)

Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports. Administers medications to patients and monitors them for side effects and reactions. Prescribes assistive medical devices and related treatments. Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions. Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members. Records patient vital signs and medical information. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Full time, Days Four 10-hour shifts On call required (2 weekdays and 1 weekend shift per month) One Saturday per month required Weekend and holiday rotation required
