RN Clinical Team Lead - PACU Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303
$39.78 - $59.66 an hour - Half-Time Days, 24 hours per week +$2.50/hr for weekend shifts. Boulder Community Health is seeking an RN Clinical Team lead for PACU who will be a department leader, mentor, and role model. Is responsible for the department in the absence of the Manager and/or Director. The CTL is an integral part of patient safety, patient-centered and relationship-based care, and a healthy work environment, and honoring the BCH mission. Those RN’s with a secondary job code are not required to take on call shifts. •BSN preferred •Minimum of 6 months of RN experience. Responsibilities •Management position supervising RN, Nurse Externs, Volunteers, PCA, UC and other support staff. •Staff growth and development in conjunction with unit manager by providing excellence in care, opportunities for growth and communicating problem behavior. •Staff growth and development in conjunction with unit manager by leading by example when promoting excellence in care, opportunities for growth and communicating problem behavior. •Supports staff by intervening in conflict and/or problem-solving. Escalates to nurse manager, ARN, or patient representative if unable to deescalate, resolve or facilitate. •Shift goals include meeting budget, reducing waste, meeting shift HPPD. •Provides staff positive recognition, constructive feedback, and coaching. •Promotes speaking up and crucial conversations. Supervises and coordinates shift operations to include early discharge, timely admissions, staffing, assignments, planning for pending admits. Evidenced by meeting hospital and unit metrics. •Staffing and assignments meet unit HPPD (productivity measure) and balance acuity, experience and ability throughout shift. •Articulates patient safety issues related to flow, admissions, staffing to the ARN and unit manager. •Negotiates and compromises to meet both unit and hospital-wide demand. The ARN will have final decision-making if conflict arises during the shift. Otherwise, escalate to the nurse manager. •Promotes relationship-based care with a focus on patient safety, quality care, and service excellence. •Consistent communication, a healthy, calm work environment, and staff feeling supported and heard are key intentions for every shift. •Supports patient safety housewide by improving patient flow, positive relationships with other departments, and creating trust. •Follow chain of communication guiding document for escalation of issues, concerns and quality issues. •Encourages clinical and professional growth through mentoring, support and creating learning opportunities. This includes assignments, supporting the orientation process, sharing patient stories and an awareness of educational opportunities.
