Key Responsibilities: + Provide evidence-based care before, during, and after cardiac catheterization procedures. + Monitor electrical and hemodynamic parameters and administer moderate sedation under physician direction. + Assist in advanced diagnostic and invasive procedures, including circulating, monitoring, and scrubbing roles. + Prepare procedure rooms and equipment, manage IV/arterial lines, and ensure aseptic technique. + Participate in life-saving interventions such as defibrillation and CPR. + Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on patient care planning and discharge. + Support new staff orientation and ongoing clinical education. About the Role: The Cardiac Cath Lab RN plays a vital role in supporting complex cardiovascular procedures and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. This position requires strong critical care skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly in high-acuity situations. Required Education, Licensure, Certification, Experience: + Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Iowa or active multistate license approved by the Nurse Licensure Compact. + Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire. + Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire. + Mandatory Reporter training within 90 days of hire. + Completion of Basic EKG class within 1 year of hire. + Achievement of a BSN within 6 years of hire if hired after January 1, 2014. + Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care nursing. Preferred Education, Licensure, Certification, Experience: + Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). + Professional certification in a nursing specialty. + Previous experience in a cardiac catheterization lab.
