Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: + Support COVID-19 mitigation strategies, including testing, vaccinations, contact tracing, and community outreach + Provide nursing care in parish health units and mobile/temporary locations across Region 1 + Administer COVID-19 immunizations and educate clients on side effects and safety + Enter vaccine data into the Statewide LINKS system and maintain EMR documentation + Collect and process COVID-19 test samples (rapid and PCR), interpret results, and provide appropriate interventions + Report vaccine reactions to VAERS and maintain lab protocols according to CLIA/OSHA standards + Educate individuals and groups on prevention, quarantine, and isolation protocols + Identify gaps in the regional COVID-19 response and propose actionable solutions + Coordinate resources and assist with implementation of COVID-19 activities such as PPE distribution and community-based clinics + Train and orient new staff on COVID-19 procedures, documentation systems (LINKS, EMR), and program guidelines + Document and manage lab results, client records, and follow-ups, ensuring HIPAA compliance + Travel throughout Region 1 to support testing and vaccination events + Participate in epidemiological investigations, case management, and data collection + Support emergency preparedness and public health responses including hurricanes, floods, and pandemics + Staff Medical Special Needs Shelters (MSNS) and assist in drills and disaster response efforts Position-Specific Details: Location: Office of Public Health/ Region 1 Parish Health Unit / Jefferson Parish Appointment Type: Job appointment (temporary appointment that may last up to 48 months), Cost Center: 3262109001 Position Number(s): 50633370 LDH supports Louisiana’s commitment to being a State as a Model Employer (SAME) by promoting the recruitment, hiring, and retention of individuals with disabilities.
