Minimum Qualifications Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse plus one of the following: Two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR A bachelor's degree in nursing plus one year of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR A master's degree in nursing or public health plus one year of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR A doctorate in nursing or public health. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: * Will provide nursing care to students, which may include: acute, chronic, or emergency conditions. * Obtains comprehensive health histories by communicating with parents and evaluating medical reports from the student health providers. *Will maintain student health records for continuous care. * Administers medications, as prescribed by physicians, which may include daily, as-needed, and emergency medications. The nurse will observe the student for expected or adverse effects of medications. * Participates in weekly pediatric clinic for students with LSDVI consults Pediatrician. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: The position is Classified (WAE) . Location: Nursing Services at the Louisiana Special School District. Work Schedule: WAE RN may be subject to one to three shifts per 2-week pay period.
