Minimum Qualifications Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: + Provides professional nursing care for acute, Intermediate, and long-term psychiatric male and female adults (Adaptive Behavior Services). + Responsibilities include directing all nursing care activities within an assigned area, which will include counseling, coordination of support services, and working as a treatment team member, as a patient advocate and acting as a role model, in addition to providing direct nursing care of patients with highly unstable psychological conditions, variable physiological conditions, and providing a healthy and safe environment. + Serves as a treatment team facilitator who formulates, conducts, evaluates, and reviews nursing plans of care for all patients in assigned areas and ensures that treatment and therapies specified in the plan are implemented. + Assesses, administers, and formulates nursing care plans, administers psychiatric, medical, and preventive health care for patients daily through daily consultation with instruction to direct care staff. + Supervision is received from a Registered Nurse from a higher classification, a physician, or administrative personnel. General supervision is exercised over Licensed Practical Nursing personnel as well as Psychiatric Aides and Supervisors. This position has direct and indirect input into administrative/clinical policies and procedures. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probation, Promotion, Demotion, or Transfer. Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Registered Nurse 1, 2, or 3.
