Responsibilities

The Surgical Listing Registered Nurse is responsible for editing and proofing the Surgical List, sequencing surgical cases and monitoring and maintaining physician listing privileges. The Surgical Listing Registered Nurse communicates appropriate hospital arrival time to the patient/family the evening before surgery and refers patient concerns to the appropriate members of the health care team.

This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Holders of F1 status eligible for post-completion OPT are welcome to apply. This role is NOT eligible to participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.



Qualifications

Graduate of a National League for Nursing (NLN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited associates or diploma nursing program. Three years' successful nursing experience in acute care, perioperative or surgical setting, preferably within the last seven years. 

Additional Qualifications:

BSN Preferred. One year RN experience within the last five years preferred.  Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Experience working in a team environment.   Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.  Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends and on-call.  Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting. Demonstrated leadership, effective communicator, and excellent critical thinking skills. 

License or Certification: 

Current RN license by applicable state requirements. BLS (Basic Life Support) must be valid for 90 days post start date - acceptable BLS certificates are American Health Associate: "BLS Provider" or American Red Cross: "Basic Life Support" or "CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and health Care Providers."
Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
