The successful candidate:

Must be able to work 8-12 hours/wk with expectation of some CALL. Hours are varied (6:30a-3:00p / 11:30a-8:00p / 6:30a-7:00p)Ability to care for patients with Arterial CathetersCompetent in caring for patients with chest tubesAble to use sterile techniqueClear understanding of specialty equipment for patient safety and careProvides appropriate care of Electrosurgery in Perioperative patientsAbility to clean and disinfect rooms and equipmentPromotes fire safety in the healthcare settingPerioperative Waste Management Maintains Environmental SafetyMaintain Sterile field Properly obtain, label, manage, and document patient specimensAdheres to AORN Standards for Providing Patient Care in Perioperative ServicesPromotes prevention of surgical skin infectionsAppropriately applies oxygen therapy to patientsAbility to position patients appropriately during surgery; understanding of HAPI preventionPerforms Preoperative AssessmentUnderstanding of preventing Pressure InjuriesMaintains Radiation SafetyProvides a Nursing Report Patient Hand-offAppropriately performs Surgical Safety ChecklistPerforms Hand Hygiene Surgical ScrubTransfers patients using appropriate techniques and devicesPerforms Surgical Time OutAbility to understand how to prevent Postoperative ComplicationsAbility to use appropriate interventions to prevent Deep Vein Thrombosis in PatientsPerforms blood transfusions

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

1 year experience in operating room/surgeryAssociate Degree in Nursing or equivalentArizona Registered Nurse License or a Registered Nurse License form a Compact StateBasic Life Support (BLS) Certification- an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training site, American Safety & Health Institute, or Red Cross BLS certification is required upon hire. If their current certification does not meet the guidelines, stakeholders will have (30) days from the date of hire to acquire attend an onsite initial BLS course and will be required to renew every two years.Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification-Stakeholders will have thirty (30) days from the date of hire to acquire American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification and will need to be renewed every two years. Will not be allowed to provide ACLS for patients independently until AHA ACLS cards are obtained
