ChristianaCare is currently seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to support our Neurointerventional Practice located on the first floor of the Heart and Vascular Tower on the ChristianaCare campus in Newark, DE.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

No weekends or holidays

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Demonstrates knowledge & skills necessary to provide care appropriate to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients virtually or on-site within the practice, including knowledge of growth development, the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs and provide care neededParticipates in a relationship-based care approach to care deliveryPerforms Nurse Visits and Transitional Care Management calls and disease managementTriages patients and ensures appropriate dispositionAnswers and responds to telephone messages under the direction of the providerAssists providers in examinations or proceduresFunctions as a liaison between patients, physicians and staff to provide accurate communicationCollaborates with team members to provide a smooth, organized and efficient flow of patientsResponds to patient crises situationsAssures adequate coverage within unit when neededProvides patient educationPerforms medication historySupport the work of LPN and/or MAAssist with staff education and evaluation of clinical competencies for new and existing employees (MA & LPN)Assist with orientation of new personnel to ensure that they are properly trained to support patient and provider.Performs chart audits or has designee assist with chart auditsRandomly shadows clinical support staff to ensure appropriate care is providedSupport the site by acting as the liaison for JCAHO, POCT, Tracer monitor for Safe Practice Behavior Monitoring (SPBM) tools & JCAHO TracersAdministration of medications, monitoring of vital signs, and performing routine treatments and procedures prescribed by the physician when needed.Keeps current with policies and procedures and participates in quality improvement activities.Participate in special projectsPerforms assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.Performs other related duties as required.

Education and Experience Required

A graduate of a state approved or National League of Nursing accredited School of NursingRN license or eligible for licensure in the state Delaware, Maryland or Pennsylvania & New Jersey if location of employmentTwo years’ experience as a RN, physician office experience preferredBSN preferred; ADN considered with agreement of completion of BSN in 3 years.

Special Requirements

Current RN licensure in the state in which work is performedBLS certification required

Hourly Pay Range: $38.22 - $61.16

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
