Job Summary:\rAccountable for performing a variety of qualitative and quantitative laboratory tests, both manual and automated, of varying complexity to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Other duties include: responsibility for documentation of all activities, monitoring supplies; compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements related to safety and laboratory testing; face to face and telephone customer service; computer data entry and retrieval; workplace cleanliness and maintenance. Follows all laboratory and hospital policies and procedures.\rCore Responsibilities and Essential Functions:\rAnalyzes patient samples and evaluates the reliability of test results according to age, gender, and specimen acceptability criteria prior to releasing information for use in patient care and treatment.\rPerforms calibration procedures, and analyzes and verifies the acceptability of Quality Control values prior to analyzing patient samples.\rParticipates in assigned proficiency surveys, performance improvement activities, and mandatory continuing education programs.\rPerforms and documents routine maintenance and minor instrument repairs.\rPerforms Laboratory and Hospital Information Systems (LIS and HIS) computer functions involved in preanalytic, analytic, and postanalytic processes.\rPerforms other duties as assigned\rComplies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.\rRequired Minimum Education:Associates General\rRequired Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):\rAll certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.MLT(ASCP) - Medical Laboratory Technician or MLT(AAB) - Medical Laboratory Technician or MT(AAB) - Medical Technologist or MT(HEW) - Medical Technologist or MT(ASCP) - Medical Technologist\rAdditional License(s) and Certification(s):\rAlso acceptable: CLT (NCA) Upon Hire Required\rRequired Minimum Experience:\rMinimum 1 year in a CLIA accredited laboratory Preferred\rRequired Minimum Skills:\rExtensive organizational skills\rBasic computer knowledge\rExperience in using epic, any LIS, Microsoft software, Outlook, Remisol, etc.- PREFERRED
